Interested in trying fencing? Can't get your kids to stop playing lightsaber with sticks they found in the backyard?
We're hosting a FREE open house on March 31, from 10:00-11:30, for children 8-12! Space is limited to a maximum of 20 participants, so preregistration is recommended.
Your child will get to...
- Warm up with games and exercise
- Learn some basic fencing footwork
- Learn how to hold the sword
- Put on real fencing equipment like a mask and jacket
- Fence a few short bouts with the other children
Our coaches and some advanced students will be available to answer all your questions about the sport. Free coffee for preregistered parents.
Future fencers should wear sneakers, long pants, and a t-shirt. All other equipment will be available to use at the club.
If you decide to sign up at the open house, we have a special offer: 50% off your first month-long session of youth or adult beginner classes!
Here's what some members are saying about Bay State Fencers:
" Bay State Fencers is a welcoming and safe environment that I am proud to call my club. Coaches Stacy and Iliya are extremely well-versed in their craft and are enthusiastic about sharing and teaching the sport of fencing. I have been fencing for about 6 and a half years and have been training under Coach Iliya for coming on 3 and a half years. I could not ask for a better coach when competing at both local and national levels. All of my teammates at Bay State are supportive and caring. Whether you have been fencing for years or have never picked up an épée, there is a place for you at Bay State." - Emma H., recruited fencer at University of Pennsylvania
"I come from Italy and I chose this club to fence for the year. It was of the best choices I have ever done. The athletes and the coaches are all friendly, welcoming but can also become serious. Every night we have a lot of fun but we also work really hard to achieve our personal goals. The atmosphere is relaxed, and I always enjoy my time there. It's the perfect place to improve your fencing skills but also to work out and disconnect from our stressing lives. The fencing level is high and the coaching even more.
You should definitely come to check it out!" - Ottavia R., exchange student & international youth competitor for Italy
