Stage Combat: The Studio
L. Stacy
Eddy along with Ted Hewlett and Robert Walsh established the Stage Combat Studio in 2004. The
mission of the Stage Combat Studio is to teach safe and well
performed stage violence to actors, directors and performers and
to provide a permanent place to expand and hone those skills.
Our Instructors are a group of experienced professional fight choreographers and instructors. In addition to creating exciting, safe fights for stage and film, the Stage Combat Studio offers extensive training for actors who want to add proficiency with weapons and unarmed combat to their skill set or who want to hone their existing skills. We also offer the Smorgasbord of Stage Combat, which is an introductory level class that has three styles in 9 weeks, one of its components is always unarmed mixed with two other weapon styles.

The Stage Combat Studio offers single weapon classes on a rotating basis throughout the season. The SAFD Skills Proficiency Test is offered once per season, usually in the spring. We also offer a variety of other programs and services including Studio Membership and Open Floor time for experienced stage combatants and performers.
