The 2011 - 2012 Fencing Season is Here!
Now that the 2010-2011 Fencing Season is now officially over it's a wonderful time to reflect on the obstacles overcome and the successes achieved by all of our fencers. We are thrilled with all of the hard work we saw last season and we are thrilled with the number of fencers who are competing. We hope everyone keeps up the hard work and determination this season!
Summer Nationals was exciting hard work for everyone who participated. Please join me in thanking our devoted coaching staff for their tireless dedication in Reno this summer; Daniel Hondor, Vitaliy Nazarenko and Gregory Berger.

Bay State Fencers has Gone Green!

In an effort to reduce our footprint, we have worked very hard this summer to develop online registration for the 2011-2012 season. You may now register for classes, programs and club memberships online, using a debit or credit card. You may also register at the club computer kiosk or pay by cash and check at the front desk.
We are using Authorize.net as our Payment Gateway which insures that our credit card processing is PCI compliant.
This is just an image. To actually register please visit or Classes, Comeptitive, or Membership Pages.
US Fencing Membership Renewals
For our fencer's health and well being and for our insurance purposes, it is imperative that every fencer participating in our programs is a current US Fencing Member. To make things easily accessible, you will now find a link to the US Fencing Online Membership Site near the "Register Now" buttons throughout our site.
Please follow any one of these links to register for your annual US Fencing Competitive Membership. Please print out your US Fencing Card online and carry it with you as proof of registration. PLEASE NOTE: As a Member Club we have access to the roster and we will be checking to ensure that everyone has registered.
Thank You! We hope these new services will make registering at Bay State Fencers easier for everyone!

SHADES OF SOMERVILLE: BAY STATE FENCERS
At Somerville Local First, we not only believe in the importance of supporting locally owned businesses, but getting to know the faces behind counter as well. That is why we decided to create a blog series that profiles various SLF members, asking a set of 10 questions that connect readers to the featured business and to the Somerville community as well.
Looking to add some excitement into your life? Do you often find yourself thinking, There’s not nearly enough sword fighting in my life? But fighting is a bit too barbaric for me, you think. Get active, learn an interesting new sport (talking point!), and become the chivalrous gentleman/woman you knew you were always destined to become: fence with the best at Bay State Fencers. Director L. Stacy Eddy gives SLF some insight into the face behind the fencing mask.

David Seuss - National Champion
Bay State Fencers is pleased to congratulate David Seuss for earning a position on the 2011 US Fencing World Team! His first place results at Summer Nationals 2011 not only secured his position on the US Vet 60 Men's Sabre Team but awarded him the designation of National Champion.
This year the World Veteran Fencing Championships are being held in Porec, Croatia from September 27th to October 2nd, 2011. David and his BSF coach, Vitaliy Nazarenko will travel to Croatia for this very important event. For information on this event please visit this FIE website.
David told us that fencing is pretty central to his life. He trains at BSF five days a week when he is not traveling for business or racing cars (his other avocation). Fencing keeps him fit and healthy. He is amazed at how much more energy and physical capacity he has compared to his non-fencing friends. David believes the fencers he trains with, learns from, fencse against, and associates with at tournaments and at the club, are, simply put, the best.
The 2011-2012 Fencing Season will offer competitions for every level of fencer.
