Bay State Fencers is committed to fostering the principles of respect, patience and competitive spirit. We are committed to patiently and respectfully supporting each individual as they work to achieve their personal, athletic and competitive goals. All fencers who participate in our programs must be willing to demonstrate respect for one's self, respect for one's opponent, respect for the sport of fencing, and respect for all coaches and officials of the sport.

Benefits of Club Membership

The following benefits of membership are afforded to all Bay State Fencers Club Members:

  • Exclusive use of our air conditioned, fully equipped, twelve strip fencing facility.
  • Large en-suite dressing rooms and large rest rooms. Showers available in the building
  • Adult Competitive Traing Class (FEE)
  • Members are exempt from floor fees.
  • Fencing training programs at discounted prices.
  • Priority private lesson times.
  • European trained Master of Arms and Coaches. U.S. trained coach recognized by the United States Fencing Association.
  • Red Cross First-Aid and CPR trained staff

Types of Membership:

Bay State Fencers is committed to ensuring that all members are supported in achieving their athletic and competitive goals. Accordingly, being a member of Bay State Fencers obligates you to represent BSF in all local, regional, national and international competitions and to adhere to our Code of Conduct.

Annual Bay State Fencers' Membership Fees may be paid annually by September 1st, or bi-annually by September 1st and February 1st.

Bay State Fencers and USFA Membership fees are considered FINAL SALES and are NON-Refundable.

Adult Club Membership: 20+ with previous fencing experience

Adult Competitive Fencing

Bay State Fencers Club Members who actively compete locally, regionally and nationally are encouraged to join the Adult Competitive Fencing Class. This class meets once per week.

What to Wear:Sweatpants, sneakers, and a loose t-shirt - Protective Fencing Gear List
Fencers are required to own their own personal fencing equipment for this program
Fencing mask, glove, jacket & underarm protector are the minimum requirement
What to Bring: A full, refillable water bottle

Type of Program: Ongoing with rolling enrollment, may be repeated
Limited to:
12 Students per section (4 minimum)
Duration: 1-hour class/1 per week/8 week term - TERM SCHEDULE

Adult Competitive Fencing
 


Open Fencing

Bay State Fencers reserves time each week for Open Fencing. Club Members and guests are invited to join us each week to train, bout, and socialize with other experienced fencers. Floor time is reserved for fencers by weapon to ensure that everyone has the opportunity to fence with others who share their interests.

All of our coaches are trained and certified in their respective weapons and are certified in sports education. The American Red Cross also certifies the Director in Sports First Aid and CPR.

Coaches are available by appointment for Private Lessons

There are NO floor fees for members.

Fencers are required to wear a complete uniform during open fencing.

General Fencing Club Policies

    1. All fencers must wear long loose fitting pants or sweat pants during
      training. NO JEANS and NO SHORTS.
    2. All fencers are encouraged to wear tee shirts or sweat shirts during
      training.
    3. All fencers must wear a complete fencing uniform, including knickers
      during bouting, Open Fencing and at competitions.
    4. All fencers must wear sneakers or fencing shoes.
    5. NO STREET SHOES are ever permitted on the fencing floor.
    6. No food or drinks other than water or sports drinks are permitted on the
      fencing floor.
